Incubus. Blew. The. Fucking. Lid. Off.

What a show man, the crowd was so fucking fantastic- it was as if they ate, slept, drank and breathed Incubus. Single best performance I've witnessed in my life.

Hope they come back again for a third time!

(Sorry for the dodgy photos. They were the best i could get off David.)

Well, well, well. The people finally speaketh. I've been expecting some changes what with the recent hoo-ha about the opposition having a real chance this time round. But not changes of this degree.

Still, I'm looking forward to see what Guan Eng does with Penang and what transpires of Perak now that they're in the opositions' hands. Let's hope they deliver and give the ruling party a run for their money!

On another note, I'll be going to Sunburst this Saturday. Anoyone else going?

It was all worth the hard work wasn't it.

The Blunt Train

“The rusty train is on a long, long journey to Knowhere, and the only passenger on it looks out of the windows, fascinated and entranced by the beauty of all things nature as the picturesque scenery whizzes past. With a keener sense of time and in direction, the bony lad would have heard the wails and the warning signs coming from the outside; but mesmerized by and caring for only how beautiful everything looked from the inside, the lad was blessedly ignorant. Trudging on and on into forever, he does not feel the slightest remorse or regret, which he says, is the mightiest of all emotions. As dusk settles upon the landscapes that has blinded him so, the bony lad, slowly, but certainly, catches the first glimpses of utter hideousness. A sharp whimper betrays his outwardly defiance. Realizing his mistake, he stumbles up and out of the compartment, only to find, to his horror, enlightenment. He tries, with an effort, to suppress the confusion; but the train ploughs on as always. “It shan’t be too far now,” he hears a whisper as dull as a blunt blade stab through the faint heart. And just like that, a heartbeat of a second later, the dusklight clears; in its place, a brilliant shade of magenta covers the terrain. The lad shades his eyes from the light, and just like a million times before, a sigh, one of pleasure, escapes his lips. He can’t help it. Stifling the subsiding cries of anguish in his head, he takes his seat, and just like before, admires how unbelievingly beautiful it all was. And all was lost once again.”

Inspired by John Mayer’s Stop This Train. I finally got this off my chest.

Happy new year (post in disguise) !

It’s that time of the year again. Where we sit back and reflect upon the year gone by. Upon the year ahead. Upon the accomplishments and setbacks. Upon breakthroughs and heartbreaks. And upon how best to end the year with the loudest possible bang.

For me, the 31st of Decembers have been about nights out partying-and-drinking-non-stop-till-you-drop affairs. And to be honest, I’m sick of it. Sick and tired of the booze, the girls, and heck, even the guys. Hah. And so, against my friends’ “better” judgement, I’m going to sit in tonight, with a good book in hand, and a good movie on standby, and hopefully, start the new year sober. Now that, doesn't sound half-bad at all. Ah, already I’m looking forward to the comfort of the quiet night and the hushed whooshes of fireworks that would later follow.

So here’s a toast to all youse people: hope you had a great close to 2007, now let’s welcome 2008 with clear eyes and full hearts!

Warlords

Warlords was simply brilliant. Best wuxia drama of the year I say. Beats Lust, Caution any day. Jet Li grabbed the show though. Was expecting him to do all the ass-whopping and leave the dialogues to Kaneshiro and Lau, but boy did his portrayal of the eldest of three blood-brothers steal the thunder. Lau and Kaneshiro carried their characters -full of spirit and emotion- very well. The gist of the movie- the bond of brothers/"xiong di", was aptly and brilliantly highlighted. Add that on to some excellent cinematography, and a solid storyline, voila, you have one of the yearend's must watch movies.

Only compaint I have is of the shitty "The Warlord" film title.

I got a surprise visit from her again. After such a long time. It was so good it felt real, even for the briefest of seconds. Damn. And as always, I awoke with a sigh, accompanied by a lingering smile.
