Babel

With my initial expectations of Babel, the movie actually succeeded in exceeding all of them, being one of the strong contenders for movie of the year in my books.

Brad Pitt (not since Fight Club) finally looked his part, Cate Blanchett's acting was as good as ever, albeit put under the shadows of Brad Pitt and Rinko Kikuchi. The interweave of different plots and links was superbly done, the acting first class and the one thing I find most mesmerizing about a movie; its soundtrack, fucking A.

Even if you didn't enjoy the movie, tracks such as Bibo no Aozora, Deportation/Iguazu, The Phone Call would have won its audiences over. Been a while since I've listened to anything come close to Explosions In The Sky's "Friday Night Lights" soundtrack.

A recommended watch for the upcoming CNY celebrations.

Have a good one y'all!
