England 1 Paraguay 0

England's match against Paraguay was bleh. That summed up the whole match actually.

The Lions got off to a fantastic start (partly contributed by a nervous Paraguay) and forced an own goal through Beckham's freekick in the opening minutes but was eventually melted out by a revitalised Paraguayan side in the second half.

And the referee was k-a-y-u. Although I don't fancy Peter "Beanpole" Crouch much, the referee blowed unfairly against that fella so many times one'd have thought that being tall was a foul itself. Of Owen? I recall seeing a headless zombie roaming around the pitch with the No. 10 jersey. Another one of those bamboozling tactics by Eriksson to confuse the opponents I'm sure.

At this rate, I don't think England will go far in this year's World Cup, unless Rooney comes in at the latter stages and produces his magic. On the bright side, Beckham seems to be in the best form I've seen thus far for England (he even managed to conduct a clever backheel with Gerard), Gerrard's as consistent as ever and Lampard looks dangerous when he has the ball.

Now bring on Trinidad & Tobago!

P.S. My hands are so itching for Lostprophets' latest album, Liberation Transmission which will be out by this month.
